Reporting Requirements & Acknowledgment Statements

SSRL submits several annual reports to the Department of Energy and the National Institutes of Health which require up-to-date publications listings, science highlights, updates on awards received, patents filed and journal covers, etc. This documentation is extremely important in presenting our scientific achievements and productivity, and thus funding case to these agencies. Users are asked to inform us about each publication or thesis based, fully or partially, on work at SSRL.

The SSRL Structural Molecular Biology (SMB) program is partly NIH supported. Therefore, compliance with the NIH Public Access Policy is required for publications that use the SSRL SMB facilities (macromolecular crystallography, biological SAXS, biological XAS). SMB users are therefore requested to follow the information on the Public Access website and submit papers to PubMed Central.

The following statement should be included in the acknowledgement section of publications that are based in part or fully on data collected at the macromolecular crystallography beamlines:

"Use of the Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Lightsource, SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, is supported by the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Science, Office of Basic Energy Sciences under Contract No. DE-AC02-76SF00515. The SSRL Structural Molecular Biology Program is supported by the DOE Office of Biological and Environmental Research, and by the National Institutes of Health, National Institute of General Medical Sciences (including P41GM103393) . The contents of this publication are solely the responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily represent the official views of NIGMS or NIH. "

Additional information regarding referencing the use of supported software/hardware at the SSRL can be found in the User Guide. Please use the appropriate references in your publications.
