This document is actually an assortment of smaller documents related to the Blu-Ice/DCS software project. It was written to assist software developers and/or beam line administrators in installing and configuring the complete software. It may also be of interest to those that wish to understand what is required in order to get Blu-Ice/DCS up and running on a new beam line.
Script writing (which enables the software to integrate easily with a new beam line) is covered. The DCS protocol is also documented here, allowing a software developer to write a new Distributed Hardware Server (DHS) for currently unsupported hardware.
