Beamline video systemThe Beam Line Video System allows users of the macromolecular crystallography beam lines at SSRL to view real-time video streams of samples and beam line equipment through web browsers. Two pan-tilt-zoom cameras in the hutch, the hutch camera and robot camera, provide views of experimental hardware. A pan-tilt-zoom camera outside the hutch, the control panel camera provides views of the instrument console and electronics systems. Finally, the sample camera and microscope camera provides high-resolution views of crystals mounted on the goniometer and positioned on the microscope stage outside the hutch, respectively. Video streams from all five cameras are displayed simultaneously at medium quality in the main video application page. In addition, any single video stream may be viewed in a separate window at higher resolution. Video snapshots may be saved from this window. Access to BL1-5, BL7-1, BL9-1, BL9-2, BL11-1, BL11-3 and BL12-2 video streams is limited to current users of the beam lines and to SSRL staff. Cameras may be deactivated by users at the beam lines if they wish. |
