New User Facilities

Automated data processing is now implemented on all beamlines. Data processing will start after the data collection run is completed. The results can be consulted in the Web-Ice Data Processing tab. The purpose is to provide quick feedback on the quality of the data and the results will be archived after a few days.

Since June 2017, the script autoxds has an option to wait for images. This makes it possible to process the data more or less simultaneously with data collection, in conjunction with the "last" keyword. For instance:

autoxds /data/bluser/BL9-2/Nov2016/COLLECT/A1-Native/A1_2_00001.cbf -wait -last 180
will process images 1 to 180, even if the images have not been collected yet. The default wait time is the exposure time (extracted from the image header) plus 10 seconds. The wait command can also be given an argument equal to the time in seconds. Note: XDS cannot run multiple jobs in this mode, so the option should only be used when processing is started while data are still being collected and together with the -last option, otherwise autoxds will just run slower. BL14-1 is equipped with a single axis fast microdiffractometer since November 2016.

A 5 micron microcollimator is available on BL12-2 since November 2016.

It is now possible to stop and delay the beam optimization on BL12-2. This is only recommended if the users are not planning on using any of the microcollimators for data collection within the next few hours.
